Hello, world! My name is Chris Woodard, known in the digital realm as Charlie Whiskey.
I was born and raised in western Massachusetts and spent four years serving in the U.S. Army, with time stationed in Texas and the UK. Now back in MA, I'm focused on starting the next chapter of my career.
As a lifelong tech enthusiast, I initially explored game development, combining my passion for gaming with programming. However, given the volatility of the gaming industry, I decided to pivot toward cybersecurity—a field that aligns more closely with my background and skillset. This blog serves as a place to document my journey, share insights, and track my progress. In the near future, I’ll also be linking my portfolio, showcasing larger personal projects.
I have experience in graphic and web design, hardware, game development, and database management. My technical knowledge includes Python, Linux, SQL, SIEM tools, IDS, network security, and information security. Additionally, I bring over five years of experience in national security as an Intelligence Analyst and Federal Background Investigator, holding a TS security clearance. Currently, I’m working toward earning my CompTIA Security+ certification to solidify my expertise in cybersecurity.
Beyond security, I still enjoy game development as a hobby. While I originally worked with Unity and C#, I’ve recently transitioned to Unreal Engine and will be sharing some of my personal projects here as I continue to learn.
